Just bougth an old Geodimeter "Unicom" Radio for Geodimeter EDM.
Unicom is an one way reciever for voice transmission between the instrument and a receiver
on the prism. The speech is transfered with help of the infrared measuring beam.

But the Unicom came without Charger. So removed 4 screws at the back and opened the unit.Found two empty old rechargeable nickel-cadmium nive-volt batteries. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nine-volt_battery
Replaced the batteries with new charged 9V batteries. Used my Geodimeter 220 EDM, spoke into the microphone and IT STILL WORKS 🙂

The Problem is how to charge the Unicom batteries without opening. The charging connector looks strange to me and i don??t know with how much Volt and Ampere to charge.
Does anybody own such an Unicom with original Charger who can help?
