@thebionicman

And it's free.  You only pay when it's time to transmit your information to the licensing board from which you want the approval.

I only have one license, no intention to get any others.?ÿ If I retire and move to another state I'll just work as a technician.

Could I get a license in another State that I've never worked in?

What really chaps my hide is almost every boot maker never heard of narrow feet, even Redwing is no longer a shoe company, just a standard size boot shaped object producer. 14B well heh heh sorry don't make them. I'm going with custom built Nicks.?ÿ Hope they're worth the money, I hear they are.

@paden-cash

That is certainly not true for WA and ID.  ID requires a degree while WA doesn't, among other differences.

I agree all the forms are dumb. I have a NCEES record now and I highly recommend to do that instead of wasting your time with VA forms. I applied to Colorado a month or so ago and submitted my NCEES record. Application to CO was online, one page, then submit the NCEES record. I received an approval email 36 hrs or less. CO State Specific exam is online and I can take it at a testing center 20 mins from my house.?ÿ

No reason for any board to not precess online applications and testing. I agree with Delaware, if you're licensed in any state for over 5 years with no discipline, then fill out one page form, give them 150 bucks and come and take the test. Better yet, if you're degreed, pass FS,PS and hold NCEES record, you should be able to sit for any State Specific exam you need, just click and take the test, IMHO

@stlsurveyor

The NCEES works great if you do it from the beginning of your career but at this point many of the surveyors I worked for are dead or retired and I have no way to contact them and some I want nothing to do with.

I could input the info but without someone to verify the experience record it would be deemed unverified and likely useless.

I got one in OK after only about 2 months.?ÿ

@just-a-surveyor from the NCEES FAQ section...

What if a former employer is deceased, the firm has dissolved, or the firm is now operating under a different name?

If a former employer is deceased, a firm has dissolved, or a firm is now operating under a different name, you can use a coworker or client to verify the experience. If that cannot be done, you can select to self-verify the experience and provide an explanation for why the experience cannot be verified.

https://help.ncees.org/article/70-work-experience-faqs

Again, you do you, but moving to a new area close to multiple state lines it would be worth the extra effort to complete the NCEES record. I am sure you are not alone with deceased bosses or dissolved firms.
