all the notes in this area describe section markings on stones as notches, most of them are really grooves, but since they are called notches in the notes I continue to call them that.
However, sometimes there are stones turned a certain way, and they are actually notches, like this one:
Those are notches for sure, SW of 1 so 5 south, 1 east, kinda rare in these parts
Took me a minute to see them in the picture. There are five, right? The fifth one is spaced out a little further away than the others.
there are five, they are pretty evenly split, the far white mark to the left is just natural, and there is one on the east edge.
