Some time ago, I devised in built several illuminated tribrach mounted back sites, for use with Astro observations. Last night, doing Arcturus, I tried this idea from Larry Scott, using plain old reflective tape from the hardware store.
While I finished before dusk, I tested it with a flashlight at 270'. Worked like a champ.
Just for giggles, I shot a distance which was .01 off record.
Night work was very common, years ago. I have a few of the Wild brand illuminated targets. I re engineered them. Put DOT tape on their front, so now I can shoot dist to them. And, they are very good targets.

I love those things. Are they yours?
Recently spotted several Wild night sight sets on EBay complete with illuminators. They are something like 150lbs when boxed.
Also SOKKISHA sets without the light attachments.
Very tempting, instead I got a set of geared loppers.
Anybody need a triple prism, I've one or two OMNI holders with prisms too many and like 8 tribrach, good quality not the cheapest ones.
I remember one day we went out to finish a road traverse and the fog was so thick and would not dissipate to where I could see any sight until I had the guys to pull a truck headlight directly behind a range pole on one end and held a 4cell sealed beam lantern on the other end and I shot the shadowed image.

Nate,
The photo is from the web, but I do have a boxed set...complete with OP tribracs.

What kind of geared loppers did you get? Also, How much would you consider for one or two tribrachs? I bought crappy used ones on eBay (all I could really afford); The bubbles seem to go out of whack frequently. Now I think the observations I'm making on my control network are good enough to approach being affected by junky equipment.
