I was scanning the draft plan which can be found on this page:

They invite public comment on the draft from affected outsiders.

I noticed a scary statistic in that document:
"Roughly half of our NGS workforce is eligible for retirement."
It goes on to say that they are hiring qualified people for those career tracks and trying to capture institutional knowledge by documenting processes, which is good, but there's a lot lost when long-time employees walk out the door.?ÿ Some, like Dave Doyle, are still imparting knowledge to the community, but he doesn't do it full time and many others probably just go fishing.
