OK – I went to the FEMA site ( http://www.fema.gov/library/viewRecord.do?id=1383) and downloaded the revised Elevation Certificate. In general The form and instructions are improved and easy to work with. Thank you FEMA.

My issue is that I can not find a way to insert my seal or photos. In a previous post someone indicated that they could insert and size jpg files into the pdf document. Can someone who knows how please tell me what commands, instructions or process is necessary to insert a jpg into a pdf?

Thanks!

I have the full version of Adobe in which under the comment bar, annotations, stamp and then paste from clipboard. Crop as needed. Usually I get 4 pics per page.

Thank you James. That is a little awkward but it does work.

Yeah, apparently, the free version(reader) won't let you insert pics.
I guess I'll have to buy the Standard Version...

Other than that, I like the new pdf version.

I am using the following software: Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard v 9.5.2

First I insert an image into word and then copy the image using a right click and then "Copy" to my clipboard. (Or otherwise copy image to my clipboard.)

Then in my open pdf document I can insert the image by:

Comments> Comment & Markup Tools> Stamps> Paste Clipboard Image as Stamp Tool

Or:

Tools> Comment & Markup> Paste Clipboard Image as Stamp Tool

I can then move and size the image as needed.

Thanks to all - It is tough being old!

Steve,

For the uninformed why would I want to “insert” the pics and seal? Why not just put the seal on the document after it's printed?
(Stupid question I'm sure.../s)

Thanks,
ibenhavin

If I insert the seal then I only need to do it once. It saves this lazy old man future steps. More time for the things I enjoy in life and less time spent jumping through government hoops.

Inserting images into Pdf with Adobe

Here's a link How to insert image in Adobe 8

I have Adobe 10 and its a bit different how you get to the command but the result is the same. Select "Tools", expand the "Content" tab, select "Edit Object", now move your cursor to the page where you wish to insert the image and right click, select "Place Image" from the menu that appears. This will open a window which will allow you to select the image to insert from your hard drive. Once you've inserted the image, it can be resized by dragging the grips at the corners or repositioned by clicking and dragging it where you want it. Also right clicking on the image will open a menu that allows rotating, cropping, etc.
