> The GeoMax is limited in areas like available angular accuracies and distance measuring capabilities as compared to the TPS1200.
Looking at the Carlson photos, I don't see the PowerSearch aperture. I wonder if that's another not-available-in-yellow features.

The "Scout360" ZRT80 radio handle option is available for clients that want to use the Carlson CR2 or CR5 robot with an Allegro MX collector and an integrated radio pod.
In response to an earlier inquiry:
>I'm curious if they are going to combine it ala Smartstation with the Carlson rtk, while a bit longer to set up having VPN service with one of the best robots ever made would be win/win any way you slice it.
For clients wishing to use the Carlson Surveyor+ GPS product, communication between the CR2/CR5 and the Surveyor+ would be handled via Parani long-range Bluetooth radios as recently mentioned in the [msg=176260]Bluetooth Adapter for Total Station Cable[/msg] thread.
> My suspicion is that, while it may be constructed from the same plans as the 1200, it's probably made on an assembly line somewhere in China rather than built by a craftsman in Heerbrugg.
Rest assured... "Made in Switzerland" (from the label located inside the battery compartment):

What about the Algiz7?

In some preliminary testing I performed two weeks ago, I was able to establish communication between the Algiz 7 and the CR5 with the Parani LR/BT radios in my possession and was able to take reflectorless readings. However, I wasn't successful with robotic total station operations (power search, turning the gun, etc). According to one of my co-workers, "the Carlson Robot can only be [fully] run by the Surveyor/Surveyor+, Allegro MX or Geomax Zoom80C at this time."
Buy the Leica.

Thanks Ladd,
That's not good for me. I'm not going to invest in a new collector.
