Sorry to hear you are slow Bob. 2009 was our worst year, we have been plodding along at an acceptable pace since them. Not getting rich, but not starving either. I hope things pick up for you soon pal.

Generally speaking, not directed at anyone directly,

When I run out of work I stop. Stopped many times, do other things. One thing I try not to do is work on to lose money, never paid much. If you work for cash flow and do it for very long you will run out of cash.

Sooner or later there will be some work and if you're not totally broke and out of business you will be able to do it. This is not the brightest outlook but what else is there to do?

Adapt and survive.

Absolutely, have three custom woodworking projects in progress as well as the construction gig. I understand there might not be anything on the back side of this project, so it is time to recharge the savings account for potentially hard times ahead. Did I mention two of the woodworking projects are for millionaires?

FWIW, economics are a matter of faith in the sustainability of the present status quo. There is no faith in the present status quo, therefore no faith in future investment.

Why hasn't this thread been moved to P/R?

It went that way pretty quick....

Oh my, low blow. But first, its great to see you posting on here finally.
No overhead you say? Health insurance, E and O, workmans comp, and yes, rent not to mention the rest of the stuff.
I was stunned at the price you quoted for that project, considering you have it in house and ready to go. I spent three days in the field and two in the office. My goal is to bill out a certain amount per day/week and with this project i exceededbmy goal by over 25%.

I understand value pricing and agree in concept but not to the point of gouging a long term client like they were to you. I didnt have any idea that your dad had quoted a price until he mentioned it at dinner. By then i had a deposit and a half day in the field.

I had a RPLS call me today and he informed me that he has been out of work for nearly 2 years now.

He offered working for me for $100 per day
