Got in late last night and brought a pair of GR3s in to the house to charge, instead of stopping by the office.

This morning the gear was on the floor of the man-cave and I unhooked the chargers and buttoned it up to stow it in the chariot.

As I walked back through the front room I noticed one of the Tasmanian Devils that lets us live here was chewing on something....

It was an antenna one of them had spirited out of the case behind my back...Not a good thing when the job is two counties away. Glad I saw it.

Aren't they cute....

Yes, they are cute...and smart. They know to stay under there and stay out of the sun. B-)

I don't know what it is but I had a Trimble 4700 receiver hooked up to the antenna with a coaxial cable and the receiver hooked up to the battery with the yellow rubber coated cables. The rancher's dog got out and it chewed the cables up! I don't know what it was that attracted the dog. I've also had rodents chew on the yellow cables also.

I'm thinking it's the salt from our sweaty hands. If you've ever had a tool shed with nocturnal rodents you can see where they've chewed the shovel and tool handles. Not near the ends, but always right where you've been holding it.

That's exactly it, Paden.
The porcupines would chew the doorframes right near the handles at my grandpa's place in the U.P.
He gave me $2.00 for every one I killed. When I was younger, I got 2 cents for every mouse I trapped.
