"Ownership Doubtful" Gotta luv it.

I can only imagine what a luxury it would be to survey in an area that has surveys and plats from that long ago.

I can count on one hand the number of "surveys" and "plats" in our courthouse that predate the 1970's.

I also noticed the "Ownership Doubtful". Love it.

As for old plats, things around here don't get interesting until we find one that is over 250 years old. And the further East you go the older they can get. I love the history of our profession.

I noted the statement:
NOTE: Azimuth and Plane Coordinates based on Maryland State Plane Coordinate System from U.S.C.&G.S. Station “Seneca”.

I know some people that don't understand State Plane coordinates and azimuths today.

I'm glad to see that they set that one pipe on that whole project. *whew*

(unless those boxes are un-noted symbols for standard r/w monuments - I've never seen MD R/W plans so I really don't know.)

I Like the "ENGINEERS CERTIFICATE: All areas shown hereon were planimetered."
Try getting that past a local plan reviewer today, if they even knew what planimetered means.

Also from the ENGINEERS CERTIFICATE "Monuments shown thus ?, have been placed where so indicated." So they did set control just didn't go to the trouble of calculating areas.
