That's it. We set the 36" variety.
Kris, how pricey are those personalized beauties...........
I've seen an iron pipe end up like that. 50 years in a driveway did it. Top was smushed down flat and round just like that. Piping is obviously hollow though.
I was in the neighborhood again today, so I got a few more pictures. There are two of them that are just alike, so I'm sure they weren't formed that way by pounding during installation. They are much longer than a railroad spike. Very solid. I didn't see anything on the portland bolt website that looks like it.

Well I'm not sure what the crew billed out at per hour, but we had the old stamp set in the truck so it took about 20 minutes to stamp the head. They supplied the bolts so.......... 🙂
Could it be an old guy anchor?
"Could it be an old guy anchor?"
After yesterday's thread assaulting ne'er-do-well old timers I must ask. Is this a comedic question? You see, I was suddenly reminded of a little book I saw in an airport bookstore many years ago entitled, "101 Uses for a Dead Cat". So.................I was picturing a boat and a rope and an old guy being used as the anchor.
Well whatever it is, it looks like it makes a good monument.
I like it when unique monuments are used. Makes it easy to associate the monuments with a particular survey/surveyor...not so easy to do that with an unmarked re-bar or pipe.
Fnd.5/8" Dia. Iron Pin w/1-1/2" Dia. Head.
