It's interesting to follow moving monuments. I think we found the fastest one yet. 9' since 2012. There is a C1/4 that moves about .6' per decade, and there is a township corner that's moved 2' in 15 years but the 9' in 11 years is a new winner.?ÿ
Interesting....I didn't realize you had that much movement in your area... Of the 3 mo09numents mentioned, how close are they to a fault line?
These are moving locally, the 9' one is moving away from another stable one 1320 to the west, the township corner is moving SW towards a highway which is stable and the C1/4 is moving to the SE towards a local Creek. Just some local hills sliding around. There isn't any stable ground to WC or RM any of those three.
I had a batch of monuments move 6' in about 6 years on the banks of the Ohio River due to hill slippage. You wouldn't know by looking at them but a resurvey showed it.
Had a bar move about 20 feet one time in less than a month. The seller of the tract did it, not tectonic related.
You sure there ain't some Rapa Nui out there, movin things around?
Another possibility
