Way to much. I use one that only has a place for the plum bob string so I can put it in my pocket. You do not need the level, target or point they are just in the way!

I am afraid of using china prisms i think their quallity is low. How anyone can be sure that the optics are well manufactured? Also do you change the vial with one with better accurancy? I think they had 40 min vial.
I have 3 Leica GMP101 prisms. They're a little pricey, but very nice.
I have an "SI 4050 Harrier mini prism". Made in USA
Very easy to sight to.
Can't fault it.

It is an excellent mini prism, solidly and precisely made. But wasn't cheap.
Quality was such the price fitted the quality.
I have 2 Chinese ones similar to postings above (Not Jims - that's good stuff) and would never buy another of those.
Bubble dropped out, poor fit, not exactly sure they are truly centred for measurement and maybe 28mm but probably 30 and just sloppy make.
They are okay for topo but wouldn't do anything serious with them.
Jim is Leica mini prism is great and the price is similar to seco. What system (like mini tripod stand ) do you use to stabilize it? Also the vial is 8min?
I want something stable and accurate in order to eliminate centering errors.

They are very quick to setup and stable in most instances.
That price is twice what I paid field them a few years back.

For most purposes I use a regular SECO carbon-fiber rod with a 10-minute bubble, and a brace stick. When the wind isn't blowing, I can hold it within a millimeter or so.
For close-in precise work I mostly use a home-made trivet to steady my hand:
I also have an inexpensive mini-tripod I got on ebay, but I don't use it unless I need to leave the prism in place for awhile -- it takes too much time to plumb it over a point for a single shot.
I don't have a spec on the GMP101 bubble, but it seems to be about as sensitive as the one on my SECO rod. I use them as a check on each other.

I have three mini prisms. I don't remember where I bought the first one. I've had it since about 2006 or 2007.
The second one I bought from Hayes Instruments in probably 2008 or 2009. I bought my third one a few weeks ago from a vendor on ebay from China. All three check very well with each other, and with my tripod, tribrach/target setups. I have three of the mini tripods that the same vendor on ebay sells, and they are handy for the building project I am working on. Most of the floors I am working on are unobstructed, so I can see the floor pretty easily. I use the mini prism and mini tripod with a small cone as a backsight. It is quick, easy, and I can precisely plum over the point.
I check the level bubbles pretty regularly. They work pretty well for what I use them for.

I have been using the Leica GMP101 prisms for years. The accuracy is the same as the circular, the range is 2000m and they are better constructed than the plastic GPH1 yoke so I use them pretty much exclusively. That being said I just mount them on a tri-pod.

Use the black u shaped adapter with a plumb bob the front is -.11 ant back is 0 offset works great and hangs from your string.
I've got it some where. None of my instruments work with it. If I can find it I'll make you a deal 🙂
