The new Collins suck. They have for 10 years! The Martindale knives are great though. Not the old Collins, but close enough to cut all day every day. If only they would make files the same as they used to.

Been using the 22" martindales for a few years now. Balanced well and a softer steel that makes them easier to sharpen. Inexpensive too.

Tramontina has a good feel to it. Feels like a machete should, and works well on brush and limbs. I know one or two people i've worked with who like the thicker heavier blade type of machete for some reason.

Thanks everyone. Just got the Tramontina today. Havent had a chance to play with it, but ill post my 2 cents when i do.

Sounds like Martindale is next on my list.
