Testing was Rigged!!!

Love this quote from Carlisle: Carlisle said he is confident LightSquared can take other steps to make sure the company's investment is protected.

"This spectrum has been licensed to us since 1989," he said. "And we've had authority to build a terrestrial network since 2005. That's not spin. That is black-and-white law. And if we cannot move forward because of the GPS industry is blocking us, we will enforce our legal rights."

My recollection is that the original license had a provision for ancillary terrestrial network to support the satellite system.

Tests Bogus? - Flippin and a Floppin

I guess their '#1 GPS expert on retainer' was lying, too, a few months ago when he said his receivers suffered worse interference than all the other brands (and that is the sign of a well-designed receiver) ... repeatedly referring to LSQ as a GPS jammer.

"Press release; Javad Ashjaee; May 23, 2011- My friend wrote to me that in a recent LightSquared test a JAVAD GNSS receiver was more susceptible to LightSquared jamming than other manufacturers' receivers."

"Of course we are! Any receiver that can effectively defend against multipath and provide a high precision result will be more susceptible against one or another type of such jammers. Also, the receivers that show they are tracking satellites under jammer and are not affected by the interference, in reality the quality of their collected data may be significantly degraded such that their RTK solution will not converge to fixed, or worse, will provide erroneous results."

I have always been impressed and astonished by those who are actually capable of saying absolutely anything, to anybody, at any time.

Never could do that myself. I sleep real good at night.

Lightsquared - Enter the Dragon

The plot thickens.

I'm sure their are some very good attourneys out there that would like to take the FCC to court on their latest decision to not permit LS. These guys are heavey hitters with lots of money and a pretty good track record. If money can elect a president it should be able to get a permit from the FCC, regardless. I think we are nearing halftime. More chips/dips/beer. Jim
