I just purchased a carlson surveyor 2 with survce 5 and I cannot get it to connect with my Leica TS15 robot. What am I missing? The carlson is licensed for robotics & gps, I've read something about Extended Geocom License from leica but to be honest I am lost. All I want is seamless connection between robot and gps. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ron

Hi Ron

There are some good you tube vids showing in great detail how to connect your Carlson to the TS 12 -TS 15 type instruments

Could you post a image of the robot to see if you have the long range blue tooth handle
if dont have one get one...

ie internal robot blue tooth will not get the range you want
long range external blue tooth handle ie Rh 16 etc other handles are good to about 300m+- with the Carlson surveyor 2 blue tooth

I get about 100 meters to my Carlson surveyor plus to the TS 12 with the RH 16 long range blue tooth handle.

Yes Geo Com Is required and like i mentioned above there are vids showing in detail the connection....

I have 3 Carlson surveyor plus not the new carlson surveyor 2 your case

So more details of the instrument would help to get your DC and Leica robot working.

Thanks for responding, I do have the RH16 radio handle. So I do have to contact Leica to get the extended geocom license to connect and operate the robot?

A trip to the service center is not required. It is a $750 license. You can contact any dealer and they can order it for you. You can type the license in or add it to an SD card and load from there.?ÿ

That being said, without Geocom the instrument should still connect LRBT to the RH16. When you search you should see a device that says RH_#######.?ÿ That will be what you are connecting to.?ÿ

Feel free to email me at sales@transitandlevel.com if you need any assistance making it work. Apparently the hardcore Carlson shops don't really have a clue.?ÿ
