Yesterday arvo went to a seminar presentation of The latest greatest instrument in Adelaide of the Leica Nova series. The ultimate dream for discerning surveyors has finally come true..... Measure ten kilometres to one prism, 2k reflector-less. A built in scanner to 1k ( slower than conventional scanner ),Built in GPS, camera and of course all your normal TS facilities.. Liscad is updated to incorporate the cloud scanning part. All I can say is WOW! Apparently in first week already a 3 week delivery wait in OZ!

When I started surveying in '60s there was no EDM. Telurometers were in their infancy! The prize instruments were Wild T1A and T2 and you measured with a 100m , 3000 ft or 5 chain invar....

While I have hung ten on the technology wave until now, I have to say that if young surveyors do not embrace Nova that they may as well shut up shop now as this latest Nova gear is the completest product for surveyors.

Assume already released in US..
