It is like someone unplugged the phone.

Inbound calls have decreased dramatically.

Very few estimates and of the ones I've followed up on, lost a couple to low ballers, but mostly the folks had "no idea surveying was sooo expensive" and will wait until next spring.

Mostly cleaning up projects and sending out a few plats going this week, but nothing in the pipeline.

Same in Chicago - pick the phone up just to hear a dial tone to make sure it's working.

Is it becaue of the election ?

It happened here (Northern Arizona) about 2 years ago. Been slowly starving ever since. I'm on target to make less money this year than I have since 1987...

Busy for now. Probably a week or so of back log of fair paying jobs. But who knows which way the wind will blow after that.

We're busy through January, at least. After that, we don't know. But at the moment, we've had to become more-selective about things we bid, and have had to pass on some recent bid requests because we're too busy to handle them.

Elections?

I do a lot of development related work in one county where the County Commission had been dominated the past decade by anti-growth candidates.

I know of at least two major developments in the conceptual phase where the developers are holding off any work that would involve public notice (such as surveyors roaming around) until after the elections, since there is a good chance this year for a pro-growth majority and they don't want to do anything that could galvanize opposition before November.
