DDSM mentioned Arkansas in his post (#16).
I have a grey beard. I'm movin' to Arkysaw. Watch out fellers, I got a full half mouth of teeth left.

And here I thought all Kansans pronounced it "Our Kansas", like the trickle of water that flows out of Colorado is called Our Kansas River. 🙂

No kidding. I feel ripped off.
The best I can do is volunteer as a presentor at seminars. It's just as boring...but I get double to CEUs and I don't have to pay. 😉

I don"t find it too surprising. If truly random, on average 1/20 of the people who were audited in a given year will be audited on another given year. And 1/20 of those who were not in a given year will be in another given year.
I was audited after the first year of licensure in Oregon. Like Mark stated, you send in proof of your PDH's and viola. FYI a good place to get free survey PDH's (depending on state requirements) is AASHTO's T3. https://training.transportation.org/category_item.aspx?id=CN
They usually have the surveying courses free (only a couple offered), but it's better than nothing.
