It finally came and after a few missteps I got it going and wow does it work.?ÿ
?ÿ
It's like my old R8's are a heavy version of R10's.
Should have done it a while ago.?ÿ
what is it, a Trimble smartphone?
?ÿ
google says yes...
Trimble can run Access on android phones now? (It said you could run access.)
@dmyhill?ÿ
It's a DC, it's super fast.?ÿ
I can't believe how quick it is with my R8's.
I had no idea it would be like that.?ÿ
?ÿ
I don't care about a sim card or a phone plan for it, I'm using it as a DC only now, maybe later I could add a phone plan.?ÿ
@mightymoe?ÿ I remember when telephones were used for talking to others and you could hear the nuances in their voice.?ÿ Some people here probably remember when they were attached to the wall.
Some people here probably remember when they were attached to the wall
yeah! They probably had a cord attached to them too!
lol

?ÿ

Ah, yes.?ÿ The days when phones were attached to a wall and TV's were not.?ÿ Answering a phone or changing a TV channel took the same basic effort: get out of your chair and walk across the room.

Why??ÿ There was only one channel.
We had 5 channels, but reception on some wasn't strong, so the picture could be a bit snowy or lose sync at times. The geezers here will know what that means.
All 3 major networks, an education channel (actual classes on one that evolved into part of PBS) and one that mostly matched ABC but had some independent regional programming.
Not bad for being in the boondocks.
We had two, CBS and NBC.?ÿ Gained a third sometime in high school, ABC.?ÿ The first couple of TV's we had weren't able to get the third because the dial stopped at 13 and it was on 16.
And everyone in the whole world went to bed when the "test pattern" came on at midnight. ?????ÿ
@flga-2-2?ÿ
Preceded by The Star Spangled Banner and video of military jets and ships in action.
That was on the rare nights I could keep my eyes open that long.
@bill93 my dad made me put potatoes and aluminum foil on top he rabbit ears and go and hold the antenna while he watched his show. ?ÿI was the remote control to change the channel. ?ÿSometimes we had to go to the roof and he would holler when he could watch the news. ?ÿ Had to get the multi-path snowy screen cleared up. ?ÿWhile he ate his dessert and watched his show or ball game. ?ÿ As i got older we finally got some more channels. Shows like Bill Dance on Sunday mornings. ?ÿLassie flipper, Gunsmoke, Bonanza wagon train, Rawhide were what we watched when weather was to bad to go out.?ÿ
On a Sunday morning that I didn't make it to Sunday School for some reason I could watch Oral Roberts in action. The Oral Roberts.?ÿ The segment I truly enjoyed watching was when he would call members of the audience forward so that he could learn of their afflictions, then pray over them, lay his hand near the site of the affliction and call on God?ÿ to "HEAL, dear God, HEAL this believer."?ÿ That made me want to go to Tulsa, attend his service, get in line and announce that I farted too often.
You are witnessing a THRAC.?ÿ Started off with Moe's hootchygommer that he is proud to own.?ÿ Turned into old phones, then old televisions, then stories about television.
Leica had come out with their version of the smartphone some years back.?ÿ They initially only marketed it in Japan. Not sure why.

You need a THRAC sub-set. The old man/get off my lawn version. Maybe call it a GOML THRAC. Many THRAC's seem to be of that version.?ÿ
