In view of the lively discussions elsewhere worrying about how to get a Texas proeprty corner within 0.06 foot, I thought I'd post this.

Unofficially, our field crews report that the top of this building (105th floor) is 5/16 inch east and 1/4 inch south of where it was intended to be (that's 0.026).

Sadly, the hoist is off by about 3 inches to the north and 1/2 inch west. Luckily, the hoist comes down after the building is finished, so no one (not even Kent) will be able to see the misalignment.

The concrete floors have been placed above the mid-90's and the glass extends into the mid-80's. The construction cost is nearly $4 billion, which works out to almost $1,500.00 per square foot. A billion came from the 9-11insurance case, and another billion came from Port Authority bonds. The rest came from NY State and diversions from the Port Authority budget for other projects, such as airport terminal improvements and bridge and tunnel repairs.

What methodology was used, and what sort of standard errors are associated with those figures? I'm not sure I'd even know what tools to use to get that kind of accuracy, let alone how to apply them to the situation.

Core Wall Survey Control System for High Rise Buildings.

For some reason (at least for me) embedding the link won't work, but "cut and paste" will.:-S

Define Almost Vertical

An instrument swinging in a vertical circle would not follow a plumb line and a GPS position on the top compared to that same horizontal position on the bottom.

And that is not even consdering that the top of that building is moving faster than the bottom.

Diversions? You Mean Ripping Off The Tunnel Users?

They got a few of my bucks.

BTW, Angelo, my cousin is taking another cruise out of Brooklyn. My wife wants another good place to eat in Brooklyn or Queens.

Lower Manhattan.........Adriennes, on Stone Street.

Brooklyn..........Colonie on Atlantic Avenue (not far from the pier, but reserve in advance)

Brooklyn.........River Deli, Joralemon St/Comumbia Pl. Looks funky, but great food.
