It seems to me that ANYBODY who introduced a new magnetic locator, would have the benefit of looking at ALL the existing ones, and it could be new material? I don't know. I just wondered if anybody knows.
Another oddity, is the Dave White Name.
Looks like it's back in the race.

Looks like a knock off to me. I wouldn't buy anything from David White. nope.
Well, MOST surveyors don't want anything with David White name.... They are construction grade.
But, it could be a re-packaged item... I simply don't know. But, as a Surveyor, I'd like to KNOW.
I once had a Jena theodolite. Worst theodolite I have ever used. I was later told that Zeiss Jena was once upon a time, a very respected name.
So, just as that name went downhill, David White could have gone uphill. I kinda doubt it, but had to ask...

Dave White is not David White. Trading on a name may be a clue to stay away.

I always follow up with "That is like your Yugo beating my Porsche in a quarter mile. Just not the same!"
SitePro is what the label says on my composite tripod.
On the website, it lists D/W aperture logo, David White, SiteMax, Gammon Reel and SmartTRAK as their trademarks and brands they market.
Their website has real contact info including address in Indiana.
The FB page uses Dave White and David White in posts.
It could be a re-branded locator. It states "Made in USA of imported components"
I guess you don't know till you know.
They are exhibiting at the Vegas and Atlanta construction expos.

I always remember Dr. Reilly loved Zeiss Jena (Yea-na) equipment, so at one time it was considered top notch. Also, did not know they are a "football" club in Europe!
Thanks Guys. A repackaged CST. It's salesmanship...
I agree it looks like the CST. The CST units aren't bad. I have used a couple different ones. I wonder if this is a Chinese knock-off though...
Brand new SitePro 25 level rod just broke with the first two hours of fieldwork.?ÿ
This stuff is CRAP! Going back with poop on it.
