Hello i have a large floor plan building to make 2d plans is a hotel about 1000sm per floor (3 floors). What do you suggest me to make the 2d plans? I have read another thread similar to this one and many of you suggest laser scanner. I have test revo scanner but as i am new to laser scanning it needs enough time in office to be results acceptable results. Also i find some shift in long distances.
I am thinking about a convertible laptop with disto and bluetooh connectivity, i search software for laptop like this http://www.mobilecadsurveying.co.uk/laser-measure-bundle-with-lt
Do any of you have any other software solution or software similar to above to make 2d plans easier?

Do you have a total station? if you need to just do floor plans. Instead of just a disto you can use total stations and targets to get an accurate floor plans and also pick up the linework directly as you shoot the walls.

We'd highly recommend the Revo and PointCab software for the creation of floor plans. It's a great combination

I've done stuff like this with a tape measure and total station. If you can figure out the wall thickness where you measure the room perimeter it will make it easier. I would think in a hotel there would be a lot of identical rooms or at least mirrored. Sometimes simpler is better. A disto can be handy for replacing the tape measure if you want to do it that way. (We didn't take many TS shots - it was mostly tape)
