I love my job

Spent today monitoring some of the structures at the local port

Started off with a stroll up the hill to place a backsight

I'm going to be renting a house about 60 miles north of you (Good Hart) the second week of September. What am I looking at, temperature wise?

Thanks

He's indeed teasing us ...
Images I read ... so there must be more to share.

It's absolutely a nice 'office', even if it is for one day

thanks for sharing
&
hoping to see more 🙂

Christof.

It will be F. It may be F'n hot or it may be F'n cold, but, it will be F something. It will not be C anything unless you go further north.

Northern Michigan weather is hard to predict and always changing. Last week was 90 humid and calm, today is 72 with nice cool breeze (which is more typical). Sounds like you will be near the Lake, it can feel like 60 deg. there, but 80 when you walk inland a mile.
If you are trying to pack light, I would NOT bring a heavy coat, but some long sleeves and hoodie sweet shirt are a must. Down to 50 at night and 70s in day. You are far enough North that there is very little humidity, so feels cooler when not in the sun.
Beautiful area for hiking, Harbor Spring (South) and Mackinac City (North)are both nice "Tourist Towns" if your into that. You may be a city guy and accustom to man made marvels with where you live, but the Mackinac Bridge takes this Northern Sticks boy's breath away every time I see it. Guess it's the engineer in me.

Side Note: It got a little wind last week 07/19/13, First time I have ever seen this happen, except for the Yugo that got blown completely off the bridge years ago. Those side rails are very low, the cabling is the only thing that keep this guy alive.

Have a great time.

Thanks, that's kind of what I thought...staying right on the lakefront

Didn't need the truck picture :-O last time I was up that way I got stuck in traffic and spent half an hour on the middle of the bridge; that's why I'm staying on the south side this time.

Of course, that looks like a panoramic shot, which, with my camera is several images put together. But wait...I take that back because I would like to see more pictures of that beautiful area. So I think it's only one image....;-)

Yes it is stitched together from several taken with camera on my phone

Unfortunately I missed one in the series - and it did not stitch together cleanly. So I left off the port and harbour mouth.

So for those grammarians I give you...

I'm starting some a new task this weekend, which should photograph well, and I'll try to get some pics for Christof. But I should warn you it wont be quite so pretty.

Sure seems like a long hike to set your backsight! 🙂
