I know y'all have seen those "surveyors reports" a title company will want you to fill out regarding easements and such on the property. Well, I filled out one yesterday where the date information was listed as "________, 19_____". If I was a lawyer, I'd be ashamed to be sending something out of my office in 2011 that asked for a 1900 something date.
>If I was a lawyer, I'd be ashamed.
No you wouldn't. The three year law school process is designed to systematically remove the ability to feel ashamed from you by the time of it's completion.
Sounds like a good idea to me....by the time you fill it out, the statute of limitations will have run out for anything you may have done wrong....;-)
Mr Fleming, re: "Paddle Faster I hear Banjos"......that must be TDD surveying behind you.
The dangers of "boilerplate"............I've been there a time or two myself.
But, it's probably not the attorney, but rather a secretary or clerk who pulled a sample out of a file and ran with it.
The lawyer probably never even looked at it. You should be mad at his secretary instead.
. . . feel ashamed from you by the time of it's completion.
Do you mean "by the time of its completion."? Odd seeing bad grammar in a message about typos.
Have you, or have you not, ever seen the movie "Deliverance", with Burt Reynolds, specifically the "Squeal like a pig" part of the movie.

Mr McCabe,
I understood the reference to Deliverance the first time I saw that avatar.
I was only making the joke because I recently saw TDD redo his old quote where he says he can survey with a banjo.

You think using "it's" instead of "its" is as bad as sending out a form at least 10 years out of date?
But the lawyer probably charged his client 15 minutes for having to tell his secretary to find and send the form.
You had me at "If I was a lawyer, I'd be ashamed." I thought it was a statement of opinion with which I wholly agree. 😉
Yep
