I switched to wooden number 2 pencils and it changed my life!

They also scan and make copies really well. My preferred notekeeping tool these days are the Zebra gel pens for that reason. The last three folks I've worked with all work online, email the notes and data to them when the job is done so scanning is of major importance.

Went to ink over 30 years ago.

I have quite a few colored pencils in the office though...
