Sitting in my home office doing a little work on a boundary until the afternoon college football games kick off and I can download a scan of a 1761 Patent from the State Archives website (not to mention the 2' contours, planimetrics, and orthophotos I downloaded from the county GIS site last night).

No problem!

I agree! One of my favorite parts about surveying is reading the really, really old stuff, and yes, it's amazing how much of it can be grabbed online.

Me too!
I was a surveying/engineering technician working for ITT Community Development Corp. during the development which is now known as Palm Coast. About 110,000 acres.
My first duty was to read 2000 microfish abstracts of title. To say the least it was a time consuming matter. However, the history was fascinating. Beachfront property was sold for two cents an acre, simply because at the time one could grow absolutely no crops worth eating or selling. The same property today sells for upwards of five million per acre. But there is none left as it has all been developed.
Have a great weekend!, and happy birthday to SWMBO 😉
I loves me some modern technology......another use....
This afternoon I was standing in the liquor aisle at Shop and Save....staring at the Guinness that I needed for the Guinness Beef Stew that is simmmering away...almost done...
And I wanted to see if the local Friar Tuck's liquor store had it cheaper...
Out comes the iPhone....google Friar Tucks...call them...and it was $1 more....
I loves me some technology when it works!
