I know I really am going to regret posting this, but.....

How big is a cow's brain?
The average cow's brain is approximately the size of a baseball and weighs between 425 to 458 grams, which is a little under one pound. A cow's brain is only about 0.1 percent of its total body weight.

The brain of a steer weighs more on average than regular cows and bulls, topping out at 94 grams per 100 kilograms of body weight. The average of cows is around 85 grams per 100 kilograms of weight. A human brain weighs almost three times as much as a cow's brain, averaging between 1.3 and 1.4 kilograms. The weight of a cow's cerebellum alone is approximately 35.7 grams on average.

Brain weight is irrelevant to knowledge or ability.

For instance the average male brain is larger in mass than the average female brain. However, the female brain is considerably more active.

Now, there are far to many factors to determine brain productivity. Math functions, artistic functions, creativity, but the majority of research tends to lean towards women actually having a more productive brain.

Also, if you compare Andre the Giant to Steven Hawking, it is rather clear that mass does not have a clear correlation to intelligence.

Now, with all that being said, it has been my observation that cows are pretty darn stupid. (buffalo are worse)

Never had any issues with cows, but did have a herd of caribou move in on a field full of lath (big pad stakeout) and rub the velvet off their antlers on the lath! Didn't move the stakes, but talk about nasty, strips of bloody velvet hanging off the lath! Ewww.

plastic and cows guts

Thanks Richard. Now I can go get a McRib sammich!

Seriously, Cows, when they get some foreign matter in their complicated digestive machine, it can be a small thing that shuts them down, or a huge wad, and they are still going. A bent nail can snag at an important area in their plumbing... I have had farmers forbid me to set nails, as control points... so I used small painted sticks.

So, no long tails on flagging, where Mr or Mrs Bovine can possibly get it. (They have a curiosity factor, and are chronically looking for something to eat...).

Makes me wonder if our own Holy Cow ever swallowed anything weird.....

I guess I am now wondering what we could get "from the horses mouth", or in this case, the Holy Bovine!
