If you had the records of another surveyor and needed to scan them how would you do it?

They range from A to D Size.?ÿ

Depending on size...Kinkos. There is also a cool app called CamScanner that coverts photos into pdfs.

I would talk to a few copy shops with large-format scanners and see what kind of deal they would cut me for the whole package. I know of a local firm that got hundreds of old files and drawings when they bought the business and they did just that and now have decades' worth of stuff on file as .pdfs. They told me the copy shop made it quite affordable.

Using a cell phone app would be nice if there was some kind of stand to lock the phone into and keep it level and stable and allowed for some updownleftright movement to center it properly.

Not sure if it would be able to maintain the proper drawing scale. I realize with a copy or scan their is some distortion.

You know we have a very expensive digital camera so I wonder why we could not use that to take a high quality photo and convert to PDF.

We would still need some kind of a adjustable stand mechanism to mount the camera in.

you might be pleasantly surprised at how well CamScanner justifies the image.?ÿ It takes your raw shot and proposes a cropped area.?ÿ Once selected it will take that area and justify it into a pretty good looking document.

CamScan is as good as the camera on your phone and has a fine detail image corner pick that will size the image at the coners of the paper you are copying.

For a very large drawing you can get one image of the entire drawing and then take overlapping shots of quarters, halves, sixth, nineth or whatever closeup areas and maintain all images in one file.

If you do not have the time, hire a young person to come in between classess or?ÿ weekends to help or else send it all out to a copy shop.
