I had the same injury last March, with the "pop" and all.
I was playing volleyball and land on a foot, oouucchh.
Go to pysical therapy for two weeks to get the right rehap technigues and then do it on your own. In a month you'll be doing great. Ice, ice ice
I feel tingles after a year just to remind me its there, but have pushed it real hard and its in good shape.
"If it's still not better in a week, doc visit is probably in order."
Extraordinarily POOR advice... Should have seen a doctor immediately!

Looks like my foot after hitting it with a 24" pipe wrench with a cheater bar about 2 feet long on it. Trying to open the bottom doors on s set of doubles that were rusted shut. Gear and rack arrangement and I had that wrench on good, so I thought, I was holding onto the trailer and bouncing on the cheater bar when it all came apart. The wrench hit the top of my foot and if it didn't break some bones, it was close, still tells me about my intelligence sometimes. Yes, I got the doors open the next day, I just gathered up the tools and hobbled off to the shop right after the wreck.
Hope the swelling starts to go down soon.
