I do not have one of these but I was looking at the operating manual on the internet and found 2 interesting things I would like other posters to comment on. Also if anyone has one please check some numbers for me.

On page 30 (of the operating manual)?ÿ they give 2 math values one is for pie and the other is for e

manual for pie = 3.14159265358980

correct value?ÿ ?ÿ= 3.14159265358979 32385?ÿ by Sharp PC-E500,?ÿ not bad but still wrong.

manual for e = 2.71828181845904

correct value = 2.71828182845905?ÿ ?ÿ(last digit should be rounded up to 5 and the big error the 8th digit to the right of the decimal point; they have 1 and I have a dark 2.

It could be a printing error or?ÿ an error.?ÿ

Please let me know what you think and as I said above if you have this calculator check the numbers and then we will know for sure.

Thanks, JOHN NOLTON

pie

Autocorrect apparently doesn't know Greek, as it should be pi.

My 50g will only go out to the 11th decimal.

Is the 300 s actually a HP or just using the HP brand??ÿ I thought HP closed down their calculator group years ago.?ÿ

@bill93?ÿ Its to bad you don't see the connection with the miss spelled word " pie " and the incorrect digits. My spelling is not the best but I do know its "pi" and its misspelled. I guess that"s the best you can do(too bad).

@john-putnam?ÿ John yes you are correct. It looks like HP (Advanced Product Division; calculator division of HP) moved that Div. to Singapore(1997?) so they could take over. Sometime around 2000 to 2001 that was the end. As you say its just the logo used and that comes from China(?).

John as I was typing this I found a paper on HP by the title of "Goodbye to HP's ACO which you can get off the internet at

http://www.hpcalc.org/goodbyeaco.php

This will give you the correct dates and history.
