can some draw a sketch?

Watch out, the tape (GHM008) made for the C10 is most definitely different than that made for the TPS (GHM007). The distance from the vertical axis to the tribrach is different for the two. They both use the same fitting to connect the tape to the tribrach.

Also, the GPS tape hook does not work for the instrument either, about a 50mm difference. And you don't use the hole on tribach, it goes in the hole on the post. Just beware that some of the laser posts were miss drilled and the hole is to low.

Wow! Another misinformed user that has no idea about Leica products. Every Leica instrument has a mark for measuring the HI to the trunion axis. Yes this is a non-vertical measurement and would have to be corrected just like 99% of surveyors measure their HI. Of course all Leica bashers on the forum like to point out issues with instruments and accessories Leica offers without researching them. The "cheap" measuring tape you might have seen is the GHM007 Instruments height meter. Leica has had this available for 15 years. Yes it is only in metric but the tape is compensated for the slant of the instrument. So you get the exact HI when you read the tape. Also all of the Leica instrument, prism carriers, and prisms are 196 mm high from the point of contact when mounted onto a tribrach. So if you are using Leica total stations with Leica accessories everything is the same. This is a very nice feature when trying to run fieldwork and also to check computations. The way tremble is doing it is only a a right triangle equation.

GHM007 Instruments height meter! Fits with their logic! 34.4 mm equals zero on their prism constants. Whatever! My 2 cents, Jp
