Hi, I interesting how make a copy of several files from Trimble TSC3 to my USB memory stick. In manuals is written that "You can use a USB memory stick to transfer files from one computer to another. A memory stick, also called a flash drive, plugs into the USB port of the Trimble Tablet. From the TA_X menu, tap Files to access File Explorer to copy files to and from the memory stick." I tapping a file, selecting copy option and there to go now ? I couldn't find a path there's my USB folder... 🙁 Any suggestions ? Thank you

In the upper left hand corner of the file explorer there should be a drop down menu to select where to go in the file system. Select Hard Disk, which I believe will be at the bottom. You can then navigate on the USB where you want the file to go. Then go to the menu on the bottom right of the screen, scroll to the bottom (or press the up arrow once), and select...edit? > Paste.

I try to make it a habit to navigate back to where the data files are, which should be the bottom of the menu in the upper left again. This way the file explorer is already set the next time you need to use it, and you reduce the risk of corrupting a file by pulling out the USB drive during a file transfer (in my thinking at least).

I'm not currently holding a TSC3 in my hand, and this is from memory, so hopefully it's right and helps you out.

No, in the upper left hand corner of the file explorer I can see only folders of my TC3. On the drop down menu I can see only "My device" and "Select files->". I think so that I am on the root folder. Probably it's not possible go to other location because button "up" isn't active.

Use the scroll pad and enter key and navigate to the file that you want to copy then edit>copy. navigate back to the flash drive and edit>paste

Does "hard disk" show up on that screen once the usb is plugged into the TSC3? I'm kinda at a loss.

Just hit the windows tab and go to my files or files and open it and then hard disc should be one of the folders. If you don't see hard drive, the tsc3 won't read that particular stick, try another.

Yeah, i founded hard disk. Just interesting thing that my USB flash stick (16Gb) is undiscoverable with TSC3. I took my friend 2Gb USB stick and everything works fine. Thank you for help 🙂

Sorry about posting to an old thread, but just found it.

I use the TSC3 to transfer files to a USB jump drive. The TSC3 seems to remember all the jump drives that I have used and lists them under Files- MyDevice as
hard disk1, hard disk2, hard disk 3 etc.

Today I noticed the TSC3 had 9 hard drives listed, without a USB jump drive inserted.

When I go to export-fixed format - the TSC3 seems to remember the last hard drive I used and writes the csv file to that drive. It writes to the hard drive even if there is no jump drive inserted into the USB port. I have no idea where it is writing the data with no jump drive inserted.

If I click the file icon on the export screen, it lets me choose the hard drive but with 9 listed, there is no way to tell which is the current jump drive.

Sometimes the TSC3 does not recognize a jump drive immediately. Rebooting can help.

Wish I could find more info on what is happening with the device with jump drives.

The easiest way to deal with this situation would be to connect the TSC3 to a computer and explore the files and folders that exist. Create a file structure that means something and stick to it.

I have seen this if you import or export a file directly to the usb stick. It then seems to create a "ghost" hard drive that will not go away.

Instead I only import or export from the internal storage. I copy to and from the hard drive separately and no ghost drives are created.

My first preference is always connecting by cable to a PC.
