Kinda looks like the chainmen made a å? chain bust in both the North & South lines of the section, either, depending on which way they measured, dropped å? chain or added a å? chain.

Hey Charles:-)

most of the n-s lines are short, until closing, those are long.

hard to say, I've been through almost all of this township now, the guy really did a great job, I'm not missing much that I looked for

Mighty:

What I'm looking at is the distances on the E-W lines (North & South lines of the section) from the section corners to the å? corners and either adding a å? chain to the shorter distances or subtracting a å? chain from the longer distances. Depending on which way they did their measuring.

Yes, I see what you are saying.

the 2620' is pretty similar to the n-s lines, he seems to be about 1/2 a chain short most of the time each half mile, I have some n-s lines that are 5210', some at 5230', but it's hard to pin him down, the south line of 35 is 5296' and no doubt he measured that one.

I would mean his 1/2 mile at 2625-2630

What do the GLO Field Notes say regarding the survey lines around this section? or what's theTwp, Rge & Section and I'll look it up. I assume that it is in Wyoming.

Mighty:

I need the Twp, Rge, & Section info. I then can check my records and see if I was ever in there. I also would like to read the old GLO Survey notes to see what they say they supposedly did. If you would rather, you can e-mail the info to me either at [email protected] or through the contact data on this site.
