The are rebuilding I-15 through Happy Valley, Utah, I've abandoned the city but still need to go there (reluctantly) about once a month. So I drive through the construction area. I've seen this several times. They have a wide concrete paver (probably three or four lanes). They have three robots set up in each of two groups near the paver. So I suppose maybe it takes 6 robots to keep this paver on grade. Maybe they are leapfrogging three robots. Looks like a survey equipment trade show!

3 or 4 lane wide paver? Grade controlled by 3 robots? Sounds really interesting.

The paver is a Gomaco Commander. I believe that it will spread out to 37' if need be.
It controls line also. We set nails on the eop just so the rodbusters get the steel in the right spot. All we have to give the paving crew is a few control points and a model. The machine does the rest.
