> Does another instrument of the same model produce essentially the same pattern?

Hello Bill,

We have another instrument from exactly the same instrument family and the same specs. If I can find the time I will test it.

> This may have been settled before, but it seems that the implication is a deliberate action taken to lower the quality of angular measure. Is this the case or is it a lack of a paid option to increase the quality of angular measure?

Hello Plumb Bill,

What I've seen seems to suggest It's a mixture of both. Build an exact 5" accuracy producing pattern that can easily be 'corrected' by software. You probably are paying to remove the built-in 'error' when you purchase a 1" instrument.

According to our nearest Leica dealer the 3" instrument is easily the best seller. And If I remember correctly the 5" is not even the second best either.
