What would these guys think?

That fellow in the middle left looks a lot like Nate. And the young fellow in the middle right looks a lot like Big Help.

Shawn,

That is what Big Help looked like 10 years ago. You are showing your age.

I understand that Big Help got himself into the cattle farming business. My guess is that he is now the size of Nate.

I don't think I can think of any hostile or aggressive signs hereabouts, Scotland's a small country and reputation alone is usually a deterrent - action speaks louder than words. Doesn't seem to stop a hard core of rustlers and poachers though.

I walked over a mineral extraction site the other day with the owner and we passed probably 20 people on his site pursuing various outdoor activities including rabbit shooting, ferreting, trail biking, didn't bother him at all! None of them had asked permission and within reason they don't have to due to what used to be called right to roam legislation, now known as Countryside access. Mind you there is a certain new golf course near Aberdeen where there is a fairly hostile and aggressive keep out policy!

Not nice when invaders come from over the ocean and threaten your countrys way of life.

At the end of winding gravel road came to a ranch style gate with an overhead rail and sign that said-
"Beware UFO's"
and several bullet holes through the sign.

I did too Nate, then I beat a hasty retreat.

Problem arises when there's nowhere to turn around!
Backup is only option.

Probably cave in the roof of modern vehicle if set up on.

There is a reason that modern vehicles crumple like that.

A few hundred meters down the road from here. Not hostile, but could be a trap:

Sign on a rundown building in a dicey area of the Twin Cities--

"This building guarded by shotgun three nights a week. You guess which nights."

This sign is along my driveway about 100' in. The next one is about half way of the 1/4+ mile driveway. The only difference is that on the second one, the cross hair is centered on the head. We have VERY few uninvited guests. Of course, having a reputation (as overheard on the school bus by my kids) as "that crazy man that lives on the hill near the creek" doesn't hurt. 😉
