here's a few photos from the last gig... one problem after another but somehow got the data. A hydro survey off Alaska's West coast.
Awesome and also some "different" photos there, Daryl! Loved the one of the rainbow, felt sorry for the whale. 🙁
Stay safe and come home soon my friend! The weather here is FINALLY in the 80sº.
So what sort of precision are you expecting on the water?
Daryl-
Do you ever get booooooooooooring jobs ?
How lucky you are you don't get the *itching neighbo(u)r's fence jobs !
Please do consider seriously my National Geographic article suggestion.
Cheers
Derek
Daryl, I know that work area well. We did hydro on it years ago too for the airport erosion study.... Boat harbor... lmao
BTW, excellent photos as always.
pretty tight rtk position I expect...the seafloor systems sonar which is integrated with the GPS has the ability of eliminating error associated with boat heave, pitch, and roll.
Yeah Mike... The erosion barrier they put on the North end of the airstrip is now under sand dunes. The sand there sure moves around alot....it averages between 6 and 10 ft. depth from shore to almost two miles out in the area they want to put the boat harbor....throw away money by the looks of it.
Daryl,
You need to make a Heinken commercial. You are the most interesting Surveyor in the world. You could say" I don't always use GPS, but when I do I prefer Topcon."
Make both pay you very well. You deserve it!!!
Thanks for the pictures. I always look forward to your posts/photos.
