Charged up (at least the light is green)

Turn base on and maybe 15 minutes later is turns itself off.

Will not turn back on unless the reset button is pressed, then turns itself off in about 15 minutes.

Took it to GeoShack, hopefully not bad news.

Anyone else have this happen?

Thanks,

Randy

Are you inside or outside? How cold is it? I had the same problem, called the techies, asked me what the temp was and I told 'em "bout 45 below" Well, they're not designed to operate at that temp! Sounds like maybe a bad battery, did you try connecting to a 12v battery?

Randy,

Sounds like bad battery. Mine did something similar to that s few years ago. I ran the base off of a 12 volt battery for awhile until I found an outfit that sold the replacement batteries for about $60 a pair. I replaced them, and it has been like a new receiver since.

Hopefully it is something similar.

Jimmy
