Hello all
Its has been a while since I posted, I had a few personal problems that I had to deal with which prevented me from surveying.
Anyway I??m back now and I've started to remind myself how to survey.
I am currently using a Trimble S8 Total station using a TSC3 controller. I was hoping someone could shed light on the following:-
- Trimble offers 3 x tracking modes which are:-
- Passive
- Active
- Semi Active
Does anyone know what the difference is between them and when would you use one of the over the other?
2. Trimble gives the user 2 x different types of measurement modes they include: -
- STD
- TRK
Does any one know what the difference between the two. I have been told that STD is more accurate but takes longer and is used only for traversing and TRK is less accurate but quicker and is used for sight shots. Any thoughts guys?
(Attached is a picture screen showing the different options
).
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Our dealer said use semi active. The robot is helped tracking by the LEDs but uses the glass for the shots. ?ÿPassive just uses the glass.?ÿ
I always use tracking. I think STD will average shots and I think three shots is the minimum number. When shooting topo STD seems to take forever.?ÿ
