I am looking for any kind of technology that may assist with locating stones under paved roadways. I have a concrete saw and jackhammer that I currently use to dig up roads. I have tried GPR and not had very good luck with it.?ÿ Has anyone else used any other equipment and had better luck?

It has been my understanding that their location was obtained from existing records.

A geo physicists may help with using the GPR?ÿ unfortunately, their use is hit and miss .It would be really cool if we could surface spot old stones, concrete monuments and redwood posts and then dig precise holes instead of destroying the whole road surface?ÿ ?ÿ

best wishes for this .

I sometimes think RPGs would be more effective than GPRs, at least in some situations 🙂

GPR technology has come a long way in the past few years for sure, but the interpretation of the results still remains more of an art than a science IMO.

The only superior evidence is that which you haven't yet found.
