8hrs 1 way. Weather is supposed to be fair. Hope fully it's worth the time and money.
The only way some people here could drive eight hours and still be in their home state is to be attempting to drive a Ford product.

yeah- whatever-
One good thing about this year's trip is the New 80MPH speed limit on the Big Road.
It is about 10+ hours from where I work to where I live. Only the last two hours are in another state.
From Port Arthur to Texline is over 800 miles. From the Sabine to El Paso is over 850 miles.
From Kenton to Idabel is over 650 miles, in a medium sized state like Oklahoma.
Mapquest says it would take 8 hours and 28 minutes to get the 538 miles from Galena, KS to St. Francis, KS.

We used to have a car like that when I was a kid. But then my dad got a job.

I stop about on the hr. Maximum effective range of a cup of coffee...plus I need to move a bit to keep from getting too stove up from previous "life experiences"...
Stopped in Boze yesterday and had dinner with Youngest File.
Today's seminar was John Parrish on Irregularities in the PLSS. Was pretty good. A lot of info on surveying areas affected by the Benson Syndicate. Don't really deal with that much in my area if work, but food for thought.
