Annual Maintenance?

I am not sure I fully understand...

"Maintenance typically entitles you to major upgrades at no cost beyond an annual subscription."

What are the benefits of the annual subscription? The software patches?

Annual Maintenance?

> FYI I am running TBC and as a long time GPSurvey/TGO user, I like the new version...a lot.

I'll keep an open mind, but so far the program appears to be the sort of thing that was designed for the user who will spend 40 hours a week with it, not the fifteen minutes a day that just downloading receivers and processing GPS vectors ought to require.

Typically -- at least under the Autodesk model -- subscription entitles you to bug fixes, feature updates and new versions. Without a subscription, some vendors will provide bug fixes, some won't. In the past Trimble was one of the latter, and I don't imagine that they've changed strategies.

Annual Maintenance?

Got it, thanks guys

Maintenance: major upgrades
Annual subscription: Bug fixes, feature updates and new versions.

I was under the impression that maintenance and annual subscription were synonyms.

At first impression, TBC doesn't seem able to import .DAT files with the point i.d.'s intact. At any rate, it isn't obvious what is preventing the point i.d.'s that are in the .DAT files from showing up as they are imported into a TBC project. If this is an example of the functionality of this software, maintenance may not be any sort of an issue for me.

is Pages a batch run program?

I mean you prepare all of the input files then push the "run" button. StarNet is kind of like that.

HEC2 is an example of an old main frame-esque batch run program. Prepare the big input file then run it. It either works and gives you reams of output or it gives some sort of error you have to diagnose.

In a word...NO. There is a Windoz interface.

All of the CORS (and IGS) stations are accessed via binary files that download with the program. These files (along with the antenna files) should updated each time you run PAGES IF (and only if) they have been updated on the FTP site since your last download.

It's really not all that tough to run, but it sure AIN'T "point-n-click."

No (at least I don't think so, it's been a while). As far as the CORS/IGS Stations, see my comment to Dave above. I haven't used it since 2007, but I do keep it updated on a monthly basis (sometimes even more often).

EDIT...sorry Leon, I though you were asking about PAGES. GravNav/GrafNet doesn't automatically download anything from the NGS (at least my "static" version doesn't).

Don't pay me any attention, I'm just posting so I can find this thread when I have more time.
