Again, retracing an older GPS survey:
Record:?ÿ N08-30-57E, 2828.40'
Measured:?ÿ N08-30-53E, 2828.43'
Slightly different Adjustment factors and they went the opposite way, the Record should have been .01' longer but heck, 1998 GPS survey vs. 2020 GPS survey. All RTK.?ÿ
And this is found set monuments vs. calculated, so have to factor that in.?ÿ
There are a number of GPS surveyed monuments I'm locating and they all fit like these two. Then there are the conventional older surveys, which aren't too bad but nothing like the GPS pins.?ÿ
I'd call that money in my book.?ÿ
I'm a little bit out of touch... is it now Possible to measure with that precision/accuracy? Seriously.
GPS changed measuring.?ÿ
I see this type or precision often between older GPS record and new measurements.?ÿ
Those aren't control points, the ROS has a list of 4 control points, I didn't check them, I would assume they would be tighter since they are static points.?ÿ
It still comes down to the care taken by the worker and the conditions at the time, such as high wind.?ÿ There are still false readings of course, such as the one I reported a couple of months back that was off by eight feet.
This one is a north-south 3/4 of a mile right of way with some big cottonwoods on the south end, otherwise it's wide open.?ÿ
Almost a perfect GPS site.
