anybody have any suggestions to this problem.

i have had a used hiper lite + for about a year. the data collector is a getac with topsurv 8.23.

i have had great success, up until about 2 weeks ago.

for some reason the "RADIO LINK" status beside the "auto/fix" has disappeared.

i have reset, rebooted, updated the topsurv, changed radio channels, got support from the seller , and anything else i could think of.

still no status.

this is my first gps unit and still not completely familiar with it and all its capabilities.

thanks.

There are literally hundreds of things that can cause this.

You are giving us a symptom, with no clues.

It could be that you inadvertently changed the channel, on the rover, or the base, so they are not the same.

It could be a bad wire at the base.

It could be an actual radio problem at base, or at rover.

Maybe try a RESET the rover, from the dc, and see if the radio got switched off, in the software. You would go back to AUTODETECT to switch on the radio, from the DC.

You really don't give us anything to go on.

So is it not working correctly? Its it still giving fixed positions or is just the status of the radio missing? If its giving fixed solutions, maybe you can tell everything is working fine by some other indicator, such as the RMS.

basically nothing happens after i setup the base. it appears as though the base and rover are not communicating with each other. i have checked and reset the channels, still no response.

Is the base radio flashing, every second, saying that it is sending?

What kind of base radio is it? Pac Crest?

Is it running at 35 watts, or 1 watt?

Or is the base radio integrated with the Antennae, as in has no external radio?
