I'm trying to figure out if ground penetrating radar could be used to search for GLO/County Surveyor stones buried in a gravel road along with any other monuments. Would only need to "see" up to about 3' below the surface. Also what would be the best frequency to use?

There are several threads in the archives regarding GPR. On especially- Hatfield and McCoy nonsense- became quite "interesting" which required some clean-up by the mods- and resulted in a few folks getting "time-outs"- some were greatly butt-hurt by this and remained in self-exile.--

?ÿThe short answer is yes it's possible-

The question is if it's practical and cost-effective.

?ÿSome?ÿmight argue that it should be a standard of practice.

I was at a workshop on using GPR for Subsurface utility location last winter. Very interesting presentation.?ÿIt was highly recommended by the Consultant giving the presentation- who happened to be a GPR service provider.
