Hi Guys
Friend of mine is looking to do a GPR Scan at a chemical processing plant and the client needs reassurance around the spark treat etc.
The kit is not intrinsically safe but realise the risk of spark is at battery swapping or cable connecting stage. This has been allowed for in the hazard identification plan.
Has any one any information on relating to using GSSI GPR in these types of environments.

Thanks

I don't know of any intrinsically safe surveying/GPS equipment. Plan on getting a hot work permit complete with sniffers and personal monitors. That is the way I approach any areas where they require Intrinsically safe equipment.
