Anyone have a excel spreadsheet that can covert global to a local coordinate grid? I have a calculator program for doing this but i'm losing faith in the ability of this calculator and would like an excel program as a back check.
I'm in the UK and work on 'stakeout' so if setting out anything on a grid or square prefer to convert to an appropriate local grid, makes my life alot easier when setting out alone too

Assuming you're talking about grids that are parallel, do you wish to do simple rotate-scale-translate?
While it's not a spreadsheet, Copan will do that for you (and a lot more other cogo stuff), it can import/export CSV files, and it's free.
If you Google AUSLIG - Australian Land Information Group, I believe you will find a number of geodetic EXCEL programs that do quite similar things, if not exactly what you're looking for.
I think they have changed the name of their government agency, but it's still easy to find with Google.
I have one in excel that an intern wrote for me years ago. It works with transverse mercator projections only. You can define a TM though anywhere on the planet.
