Any body have these items and use them in full rain (Geomax Zoom 90/ Carlson Surveyor 2)? Just curious if they are actually waterproof.

I am not aware of any total station being waterproof. I have used the Surveyor 2 and I believe it is described as being water resistant to a degree. It can handle getting wet but not staying wet or getting submerged.

Yeah. I know nothing is waterproof but below is what their specs say. I'm just curious if anyone consistently uses them in rain.

Carlson Surveyor 2-?ÿIP68 waterproof and dustproof

Geomax Zoom 90-IP55?ÿdust-proof and fully protected against water jets.

Be sure to choose the 'water/rain' setting under 'Settings: System: Stylus' on the Surveyor2.

It seems to help a lot (although we don't get ANY rain here anymore so no need.)

I work with both in the rain.?ÿ The surveyor2 has some touch screen issues when it's pouring rain.?ÿ Overall not terrible.?ÿ The Mesa2 with Carlson in the rain isn't good at all in the rain... I'd rather use a 48 with a weather case .?ÿ

Hi,

The Zoom90 will handle rain without a problem.
Just make sure not to store it in a sealed container when wet.

Greetings,
Floris

I have found that it has a hard time finding the 360?ø prism when the glass gets wet.

And the touch screen will start randomly picking tabs.
