I got a reference point that was designed using a geoid model. I use a GPS?ÿ that does not have a File geoid , so what is the classification of the observation points?
Hi. We need more information to properly answer this question, but from what you said, you need to contact the entity that provided you with the reference point and ask them what was the geoid that was used. This same geoid you need to download it and then put it into your data collector.
There are many geoid models. Which one is appropriate depends on where and when the work is being done.?ÿ ?ÿ?ÿ

I'm not sure what you mean by classification.
The GPS will give you XYZ coordinates or latitude/longitude and ellipsoidal height.?ÿ The geoid has no part in the GPS solution itself.?ÿ Converting to orthometric or normal height will involve the application of a geoid model by a data collector or office software.?ÿ
You need to use whichever geoid model the design used, and also the horizontal and vertical datums the design used.
